If you missed our advent calendar class (you really didn't want to miss it, you just had to right) here is a simple and easy calendar to do at home.

1) Items you are going to need: 2 packs of 12 piece gum, the kind that come in a tray and you can pop out of the foil I bought mine at Smiths (The dollar store also has it) 2 pieces of patterned paper, 1 piece of solid card stock, ribbon and/or other embellishments, paper cutter, adhesive and a Sharpie.
2) Start by cutting your base patterned paper 4x6 inches. I used a glue stick to glue it to the gum package. Just apply the glue directly to the paper and wrap it around.

3) The second patterned paper I used had strips of words all over. I cut them into individual strips to use the words and phrases. This one says "The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there." Mount these on the solid card stock.

This is just a picture of the paper being cut into strips.

4) Take the gum trays out of the package and number the pieces of gum 1-24. (That's why you need two packs of gum for one calendar)

5) To embellish I wrapped 2 colors rick rack around the whole thing.

For this one I wrapped rick rack around side and a word strip, from the same patterned paper, on the other side.
This is so simple to do! This is great for older kids who enjoy chewing gum. 1 piece a day starting December 1 and the last on Christmas Eve. Only have time to make one pack? Do it for the 12 days of Christmas.

Halloween Sale

All Halloween items are now 10% off. There are still many items to choose from. Come stock up for next year or make pages for this years pictures.

Post It Note Holder

1) Supplies needed: 1 piece of paper, 2 colors of rick rack, 1 embellishment (I used a letter B for our last name. Metal letter tiles are 5 cents in the store), 1 plastic picture frame ($1 at Walmart), adhesive.
2 ) Cut your paper to 4x6 and slide into picture frame.

3) Attach rick rack, I glued behind. Glue embellishment on.

4) Stick Post-It's on. I bought the super sticky, they work well! Just peel the back paper off and stick them on. Wrap Velcro around a pen and glue a piece on the frame.
